BERNE, Ind.--Pam Marra has been hired as the editor for Town Square magazine, which will launch in early 2007 as the newest magazine from DRG.

Marra is an award-winning writer who has edited newspaper lifestyle and feature sections for 15 years. Most recently, she was a freelance feature writer for The Pulse-Journal in Mason, Ohio, and the Corridor Magazine in Fairmont, W. Va. As the lifestyle editor, she organized content, developed and wrote feature stories, produced photo layouts, designed cover pages and prepared a weekly column for the Times West Virginian newspaper in Fairmont.

Previous to that, she was the lifestyles/feature editor for the Exponent and Telegram in Clarksburg, W. Va., where she produced four themed cover sections each week. She was also responsible for composing the front page and other pages for the newspaper's daily and Sunday editions.

Marra was awarded first place for best lifestyle pages from the West Virginia Press Association and was named best lifestyle columnist. She also received a second place designation from the WVPA for feature writing.

"We are pleased to have Pam as a member of the editorial staff at DRG," said Jeanne Stauffer, editorial director. "Her skill and the warmth of her personality have already had an impact on the first issue of our new Town Square magazine. Her friendly hometown attitude shines through in everything she writes and in her relationships with other staff members."

"I'm excited about working at DRG," said Marra. "It's a family-owned business with traditional ideals, and working on a magazine that is dedicated to small towns takes me back to my small-town upbringing in West Virginia. The stories and themes have a familiar feel, and the fact that the magazine focuses on happy and heartwarming news is very refreshing."

Town Square is the first and only magazine devoted to the joys of living in smaller communities across North America. The magazine is written by readers who submit stories and photos of personal experiences about life in a small town.

All of the stories are 100 percent positive and focus on topics such as small-town heroes, community festivals, outstanding attractions and famous people who grew up in a small town and were known by local residents before they became famous.

The first issue of Town Square will be available in January 2007, and readers from across the country are invited to submit stories or photos for consideration in future issues. For a list of writer's guidelines, or to subscribe to the magazine, visit the Web site at TownSquaremagazine.com.
