Vagts is new Quilter's World editor
BERNE, Ind. -- DRG, a leader in the craft and nostalgia markets, has hired Carolyn Vagts as the editor of Quilter's World, one of the company's nationally-distributed magazines.

Vagts has more than 10 years of quilting experience, working as a freelance designer, quilt store owner, writer and quilt-pattern proofer. She currently freelances for several magazines, including Quilter's World, McCall's Quilting and McCall's Quick Quilts. Her quilt projects have also been published in 11 books.

For the past seven years, she has owned and managed The Village Quilt Shoppe in Lake Orion, Mich., where she designed a number of incentive programs, such as Blocks-of-the-Month, Stash Management Club, Breakfast Club and the community's annual quilt show.

Before that, she was the store manager for Always Christmas/Scottish Christmas, where she designed Christmas ornaments and store displays.

Vagts holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oakland Community College and Oakland University and a degree in floral design from Parker Floral Design.

Jeanne Stauffer, DRG editorial director for books and magazines, said, "Vagts brings a wealth of quilting experience. She has a fresh way of looking at quilts and quilting that I think our readership will appreciate, and we welcome her to DRG and look forward to working with her."

Quilter's World launched in 2000 and is published six times a year. It is available in print form and in a digital format from the magazine website at QuiltersWorld.com.
