Traditional autumn activities remembered in Looking Back magazine
BERNE, Ind.—The November 2009 issue of DRG’s popular nostalgia magazine, Looking Back, is now available on newsstands nationwide. Printed in a full-color, 74-page format, the magazine celebrates life in America during a time now called “the good old days.”
Looking Back highlights true stories contributed by readers from across the country, focusing on average Americans and every-day experiences from the past. There are old-time advertisements, witty cartoons and authentic photographs of memorable people, places and events, with magazine sections that incorporate home cooking recipes, nostalgia travel and old-fashioned home remedies.
Stories in the November issue recall traditional autumn activities, Halloween parties, early Christmas preparations and memories of wash day, complete with an old-fashioned lye soap recipe. In all, there are more than two-dozen first-hand accounts.
Looking Back launched as a complement to Good Old Days magazine, the original DRG nostalgia magazine, which started as a write-in column in the 1960s but quickly grew into an independent nostalgia publication.
Looking Back reflects a continued interest in stories and photos from the past, but adds an updated, full-color look and additional features to attract a new generation of nostalgic storytellers.
Readers can subscribe to the magazine from the Web site at LookingBackMagazine.com. A 12-month subscription includes six issues for $19.97.
