Reader-written stories in Good Old Days magazine
Good Old Days features stories, photographs and illustrations that take readers back to a time now called "the good old days," highlighting reader-written accounts from across the country in a format reminiscent of the popular newsprint era.
Good Old Days has a history that dates back more than 40 years. It began as a write-in column for sharing nostalgia, but quickly grew into an independent publication. Today, it continues to grow in popularity and appeal as a full-size magazine that gives readers a place to read about -- and write about -- their memories from the past.
"We look for general interest reminiscences that are unique and enjoyable," said Editor Ken Tate. "The magazine celebrates a dramatic era that began with the Great Depression and lasted through the 1960s, with stories that highlight life during a time when the pace was slower and the enjoyments were simpler."
The October issue includes accounts called "Good Morning, Mr. Adams," "Mr. Wilson's Porch," "Old Farm Paths" and "Little Half-Worn Shoes." In all, there are more than 20 stories, with regular features that include Good Old Days in the Kitchen, Old-Time Music, Looking Back and Good Old Days on Wheels.
Good Old Days is produced under the House of White Birches brand. It was first published in the New England area, but in the 1980s was purchased by the Muselman family and moved to the Midwest town of Berne, Ind., to become part of the DRG family of brands. The magazine is available by subscription at GoodOldDaysMagazine.com.
In addition to Good Old Days, DRG publishes a variety of special-interest consumer magazines, books and related products, all sold direct to consumers through catalogs, the Internet, and through wholesale and trade channels.
DRG publications and products are available from the company Web site at DRGnetwork.com.
