BERNE, Ind. -- The October 2009 issue of Crochet World magazine is now available in specialty stores and on newsstands nationwide. It offers 32 fall and winter needlecraft projects in a 68-page, full-color publication that retails for $5.99.

Crochet World launched in 1978 as one of the first magazines geared specifically toward crochet. Today, it is published by DRG, nationally-known publisher of special interest magazines and books, providing crochet patterns that combine the latest in needlecraft trends with the best of classic crochet designs.

The October issue features a how-to article on hand-painted and hand-dyed yarn. It also includes an autumn hoodie with instructions to fit child's size 4-10. There are his and hers outdoor sweaters in sizes small through X-large, a matching scarf and hat set, a felted purse, a striped harvest throw, a Halloween ghost bag and puppet, an autumn-colors doily and a pet mat.

In addition, Crochet World offers 10 extra pages of crochet patterns and articles, available at the online magazine Web site at Crochet-World.com. Subscribers can sign in with their e-mail address and gain full access to the extra pages. Newsstand buyers can sign in with a limited-time code found on page 4 of the October issue.

Every magazine issue includes patterns for creating toys, dolls, doilies, clothing items, afghans, baby apparel and miscellaneous items using both trendy and traditional yarns and threads. The materials used in the magazine are available in retail outlets and needlecraft shops, with patterns written in skill levels that range from beginner through experienced.

In addition to crochet projects, there are helpful crochet tips and added instructions for each project, and every pattern includes a materials list and a set of step-by-step instructions. For added crochet support, the magazine also features answers to readers' written questions.

Crocheters can subscribe to Crochet World or order the current issue by visiting the magazine Web site at Crochet-World.com.
