Learn to do Surface Stitches begins with seven easy surface stitch lessons, with step-by-step instructions for creating the surface slip stitch, which is the earliest-known form of crochet, often used as an embellishment.
In all, there are eight projects, written at the easy through intermediate skill levels, with step-by-step instructions and a full-color photo with each design. Patterns include a colorful place mat, a monogram scarf, an appliqué pillow, a beaded purse and a cabled sweater.
