Crochet World holiday special edition ready for release

BERNE, Ind. -- DRG, nationally-known publisher of special-interest magazines in the interest areas of quilting, crochet, knitting, sewing, beading, paper crafting and nostalgia, is set to release a series of newsstand specials to mark autumn and the approach of the traditional holiday season.

Crochet World, the first DRG fall 2009 newsstand special, will appear on newsstands July 28, and will feature 66 holiday crochet projects in a 98-page, full-color publication retailing for $5.99.

This special magazine issue is a compilation of the best Christmas projects from Crochet World. There are ornaments and home decorations, quick gifts, stocking stuffers, heirloom gift ideas, holiday runners and doilies, and Christmas decorations for the holiday tree.

The magazine features projects for intermediate-level crocheters, but also includes a variety of patterns written at the beginner and easy skill levels. Additional projects include afghans, doilies, slippers, hats, book markers and toys.

Every pattern in the magazine includes a set of easy-to-follow instructions, with pattern notes, instructions on special stitches, and material listings for each project. The magazine also includes a stitch guide, a stitch abbreviations chart and a buyer's guide to assist crocheters at all levels of experience.

Crochet World launched in 1978 as one of the first magazines geared specifically toward crochet. It offers the latest in crochet projects, with an up-to-date look that features full-color projects and a range of crochet patterns. Every issue includes crochet toys, dolls, doilies, clothing items, afghans and baby items, using yarns and threads that are readily available in retail outlets and needlecraft shops.
