BERNE, Ind. -- The August 2009 issue of Good Old Days magazine is available in select stores nationwide, featuring nostalgic summer stories from across the country. The magazine is published by DRG, nationally-known publisher of special-interest magazines and books.

Good Old Days highlights a simpler time in our nation's history, with accounts written and submitted by the people who lived them. The August issue features more than 25 stories, with titles that include "Dad's Corner Grocery," "Early Radio," "The Wanderer Comes Home," "Washdaymonday," and "The Wasp, the Mule and Me."

For more than 40 years, Good Old Days has maintained its popularity and appeal, giving readers a place to read about -- and write about -- fond memories from the past. More than 300,000 copies of the magazine are sold each month, with pictures, songs and stories that take readers back to "the good old days."

"Our nostalgia magazine is unique in the marketplace," said Ken Tate, editor. "It gives storytellers a place to share their interesting tales from the past, and it allows a new generation of readers to learn about an era from our nation's history that might otherwise be lost."

Good Old Days is published by House of White Birches, a leading DRG brand. HWB originated in the New England area in the 1940s and began publishing Good Old Days in the 1960s. In 1985, the Muselman family purchased HWB and moved its publishing operation to the Midwest town of Berne, Ind., to become part of the DRG family of brands.

Good Old Days is available by subscription from the magazine Web site at GoodOldDaysMagazine.com.

DRG is a third-generation, family owned business with two major business divisions; one in magazine and book publishing and consumer catalogs and continuities, and the other in subscription and product fulfillment. The publishing division encompasses leading brands that include Annie's Attic, American School of Needlework, House of White Birches, Clotilde and The Needlecraft Shop.
